The Havening Technique, developed by Dr. Ron Ruden, is designed to alter the client’s memory to permanently remove all negative effects of trauma and post-traumatic stress, which can be physical as well as psychological.
Havening has shown to be helpful in cases of:
- Panic attacks
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Upsetting memories e.g. divorce, bereavement, accidents, war, natural disasters etc
- Emotional eating
- Fear of abandonment
- Chronic pain
When an event is perceived as stressful and traumatic, its memory is encoded in such a way that symptoms are generated by conscious or inadvertent recall of the traumatising event. Unfortunately, each time that memory is triggered, the likelihood of it happening again increases too. This sets up a repeating pattern that feels impossible to stop.
However, by changing the structure of the brain, Havening disrupts the memory pathways and extinguishes the cause of the symptoms, quickly and completely, eliminating the associated negative emotions and sometimes the memory itself.
